INTRODUCTION OF GENIUS ARTIST OF INDIA
India has a rich history of art and culture, and there have been many genius artists who have contributed to this legacy. Here are a few examples: Rabindranath Tagore, Raja Ravi Varma, MF Husain, Amrita Sher Gil, Tyeb Mehta and more.
These are just a few examples of the many genius artists who have contributed to India’s rich artistic heritage. Their works continue to inspire and captivate audiences today, and serve as a testament to the power of art to transcend borders and cultures.
Rabindranath Tagore
Rabindranath Tagore – Tagore was a polymath who wrote poetry, stories, and songs, and was also a painter. He was the first non-European to win the Nobel Prize in Literature, and his works continue to be celebrated for their beauty and depth.
Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore FRAS was a Bengali polymath who worked as a poet, writer, playwright, composer, philosopher, social reformer and painter. He reshaped Bengali literature and music as well as Indian art with Contextual Modernism in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
Raja Ravi Varma
Raja Ravi Varma – Varma was a painter who is known for his depictions of Indian mythology and cultural scenes. His use of light and color was groundbreaking, and his works have had a significant impact on Indian art.
Raja Ravi Varma was an Indian painter and artist. He is considered among the greatest painters in the history of Indian art. His works are one of the best examples of the fusion of European academic art with a purely Indian sensibility and iconography. He was known as the first modern Indian artist.
MF Husain

Maqbool Fida Husain was an Indian artist known for executing bold, vibrantly coloured narrative paintings in a modified Cubist style. Amrita Sher-Gil
Amrita Sher-Gil – Sher-Gil was a painter who is often considered one of India’s greatest modern artists. Her works were influenced by European art movements such as Post-Impressionism and Expressionism, and she is known for her powerful portraits of Indian women.
Amrita Sher-Gil was a Hungarian-Indian painter. She has been called “one of the greatest avant-garde women artists of the early 20th century” and a pioneer in modern Indian art. Drawn to painting from an early age, Sher-Gil started formal lessons at the age of eight.
Tyeb Mehta
